Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-08-12
These terms apply to tours booked with TRIPBENTO PTE. LTD. (UEN 202401746W), trading as Amazing Shanghai. Booking a tour means accepting them.
What we provide
Private, guided tours in and around Shanghai, arranged individually rather than sold from a fixed catalogue. What your trip includes is whatever we agree with you in writing before you pay — the itinerary, the guide, transport, and any entrance fees or meals we have said are covered. Anything not described there is not included.
How a booking is made
- You tell us what you want, and we quote a price by email or messaging app.
- Once you accept the quote, we send a payment link for a deposit of 30% of the total.
- Your booking is confirmed when the deposit is paid, not when the quote is agreed. Until then the date is not held for you.
- The balance is due on the day of the trip, as set out below.
Deposits are taken from 14 days before the travel date. If you book earlier than that, we will hold the quote and send the payment link when the window opens.
When we can accept a booking
Our advertised cutoff is 48 hours before departure. Bookings made inside that window may still be accepted at our discretion, and we will say so rather than leave you guessing — but the deposit on a booking made inside 48 hours of departure is non-refundable from the moment it is paid, and we tell you that before you pay rather than afterwards. We do not accept new bookings within 24 hours of departure.
When "departure" is
Every deadline on this page is measured against 00:00 Shanghai time (UTC+8) on your travel date, not against the hour your tour is due to begin. This is deliberate: it is a single unambiguous moment that neither side has to interpret, and it always falls earlier than the tour itself, so it works in your favour rather than ours.
Paying the balance
The remaining 70% is due on the day of the trip. We are flexible about exactly when — before you set off, or during the day — and we will send a payment link when it suits you. We accept the same payment methods as for the deposit. A trip is not complete until the balance is settled.
Cancelling and refunds
- More than 48 hours before departure: cancel for any reason and your deposit is refunded in full.
- Within 48 hours of departure: the deposit is not refunded. By that point the guide is committed and the date has been turned down for others.
- If you have paid the balance and cancel: the balance is returned; whether the deposit is depends on the timing above.
To cancel, contact us at info@amazingshanghaitrip.com or by WhatsApp, quoting your booking reference. The time we receive your message is what counts, not the time we reply to it. Refunds are returned to the card or wallet you paid with, usually within five to ten working days depending on your bank.
Nothing here limits any statutory right you have that cannot be excluded by agreement.
If we have to cancel
We will refund everything you have paid, including a deposit that would otherwise be non-refundable, and we will tell you as soon as we know. That covers the cases within our control and those outside it — a guide falling ill, a site closing without notice, severe weather, transport being suspended, or an official restriction. We are not able to compensate you beyond that refund for flights, hotels or other arrangements booked separately, so please make sure your travel insurance covers them.
If part of a trip cannot go ahead once it has started, we will offer a reasonable alternative where one exists, or refund the part not delivered.
Changes
Ask us to change a date or an itinerary and we will do what we can. A change requested more than 48 hours before departure carries no fee, subject to availability. Inside that window we will try, but we may not be able to, and the cancellation terms above still apply. If a change increases the cost we will quote the difference and wait for you to agree before charging anything.
Prices and payment
Prices are quoted per trip, not per person unless we say so, and in the currency shown on your quote. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. If your card issuer converts the amount, their rate and any fee are between you and them. A quote is valid for 14 days unless we state otherwise.
On the day
Please be ready at the time and place on your booking confirmation. Guides will wait, and will call you, but a tour that starts late may still have to finish at the planned time shown there — the vehicle and guide are booked for those hours. Tell us in advance about mobility needs, allergies, or anything else that affects what we can plan — we would rather adjust the itinerary than discover the problem on the day. You remain responsible for your own visas, travel documents and insurance.
Our responsibility
We take the reasonable care you would expect of a professional tour operator, and we are responsible for the parts of your trip we run ourselves. We are not responsible for the acts of third parties you contract with directly, such as airlines and hotels, nor for loss or damage that could not reasonably have been foreseen. Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our liability for any one booking is capped at the total amount you paid us for it.
Complaints
Tell us during the trip if something is wrong — most things can be fixed on the spot, and nothing can be fixed after everyone has gone home. If that is not possible, write to info@amazingshanghaitrip.com within 28 days and we will respond within 14 days.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
